Fast & Furious: Supercharged Ride Description

COMING IN SPRING 2018.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged is a 3-D ride based on the Fast & Furious film franchise. The ride has an original storyline with familiar characters like Dom (Vin Diesel), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), Mia (Jordana Brewster), and Owen Shaw (Luke Evans).

The experience starts outside of the ride building, where you'll see Dom’s Ice Charger (a 1970 Dodge Charger with a high-speed Hellcat V8 engine). The queue takes you to familiar places inspired by the Fast & Furious movies, like the Family Room and Tej’s War Room. This area also includes screens that play clips from the movies.

You'll get invited to an after-race party and board a "party bus" arranged by Tej. But after you board, Dom calls to let you know that Owen Shaw (the bad guy) is on his way. From there, you go on a simulated 120-mph ride through high-def 3D wraparound screens.

Virtual Line System

Like Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride has a virtual line system, which allows you to use Universal's free mobile app or nearby kiosks to reserve a ride time.

Fast & Furious Cars

For fans, the most thrilling part of the Fast & Furious Supercharged ride might be the cars. Guests can see (and take photos with) 12 cars that were actually used in the movies and 3 cars that were created just for this ride. Some examples include Dom's Charger, Roman’s Bentley GT, and Letty’s Turbo Truck. All of the cars were created by Dennis McCarthy, the man behind the cars in the Fast & Furious movies.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged Ride History

Fast & Furious: Supercharged replaced Disaster: A Major Motion Picture Starring You, a dark ride/show that officially opened in January of 2008 and closed in September of 2015. The Disaster ride replaced Earthquake: The Big One, which opened with the park in 1990 and closed in November of 2007.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged is part of the tram tour in Universal Studios Hollywood. The Orlando ride is meant to be a more exciting version of this tram stop. It incorporates characters not seen in Hollywood, including Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) and Mia (Jordana Brewster). It also offers the opportunity to take photos with the cars, which you can't do in Hollywood.
