Review of The Hopping Pot
The Leaky Cauldron is our favorite place to eat in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley. But when it comes to specialty Harry Potter drinks, The Hopping Pot is a top-notch watering hole.
Our favorite drinks at The Hopping Pot are Otter's Fizzy Orange Juice and Tongue Tying Lemon Squash. Otter's Fizzy Orange Juice is a super tasty carbonated orange drink served with cinnamon sugar on the rim. Tongue Tying Lemon Squash is a sweet, refreshing lemonade served over ice that tastes extra yummy on a hot day.
If you're feeling adventurous, Fishy Green Ale is the drink for you. This mint-colored beverage has blueberry flavored balls at the bottom that are supposed to represent fish eggs. They sort of pop in your mouth when you're drinking it through the over-sized straw. And of course, you need to try the various versions of Butterbeer at least once to see which one is your favorite.
The British crisps are a little overpriced given the number of chips you get (it's a small bag). The Cornish Pasties, on the other hand, make a good snack. You get three in each order, so it is a very sharable item if you're not trying to make a meal out of it.
The line at The Hopping Pot can get a little long, so be prepared to wait if you hit it up at a busy time. The picnic tables outside of The Hopping Pot also fill up fast, especially when the Carkitt Market shows (Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees and Tales of Beedle the Bard) are about to start. If you're lucky enough to get a seat, you will be in earshot of the shows.
