Me Ship, The Olive Attraction Description
Me Ship, The Olive is a three-story play area inside of a colorful ship inspired by Popeye the Sailor Man. Each story can be reached via stairs or an elevator. The stairs are covered with a soft, kid-friendly material to prevent hard slips and falls. There are also slides that can take kids from upper to lower levels. Decorations around the ship include barrels, boxes, cans of spinach, and other cargo. The front of the boat is ornamented with an Olive Oyl figurehead.
Popeye's ship is full of interactive props like ship wheels, horns, bells, and whistles. A lot of kids like to climb the small cargo nets and play the tiny on-board piano that belts out the Popeye theme song when you hit the colored keys in the right order. But the most popular features of this ship are the water cannons on the second level, which allow shooters to spray unsuspecting rafters who are sailing by the ship on Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. Unlike some of the other water cannons in Islands of Adventure, these cannons are free to use.
Me Ship, The Olive History
Me Ship, The Olive is a ship owned by Popeye, the cartoon sailor man who made his first appearance in a 1929 comic strip. The ship is named The Olive after Popeye's longtime gal pal Olive Oyl. Olive made her first comic strip appearance ten years before Popeye in 1919. Me Ship, The Olive opened in Toon Lagoon with the rest of Islands of Adventure in 1999.

UO Fan Guide Mini Review of Me Ship, The Olive
Me Ship, The Olive is not nearly as large as some of Universal's other play areas (Camp Jurassic, for example) but it is a really fun place for adults to visit and a nice spot for kids to run around and blow off steam. Parents seem to like the nearby restrooms and smoking section. There is also a really nice walking path behind the ship that provides good views of the lagoon, other islands, and Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges.
