Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster Ride Description

Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster is themed around Woody Woodpecker, the animated character created in 1940 by Walter Lantz and Ben "Bugs" Hardaway. The ride is what some people might call a junior roller coaster. It was designed to be a family roller coaster or starter roller coaster for kids who aren't quite tall enough or brave enough for some of the other rides.

The roller coaster is outdoors. The track is relatively low to the ground, with the highest point located 28 feet in the air. You won't experience any serious inclines or drops on this track, but you do have a few small lifts and declines along with some soft curves. Top speed is just over 24 miles per hour.

The queue incorporates some bells that guests can ring along with a few signs and sound effects. The ride itself features Woody Woodpecker audio clips, including the trademark laugh. A stop sign warns everyone that the ride is coming to a close.

UO Fan Guide Ride Tip

The wait times for this roller coaster are usually relatively short, but can get rather long in the afternoon and on busy days. If you encounter a long wait time, come back another time.

The queue is lackluster and the ride lasts less than one minute, so waiting in line for 15 minutes or longer is not ideal.

UO Fan Guide Mini Review of Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster

Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster is similar to the Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster in Islands of Adventure, but it's lower to the ground, a little bit slower, and about 20 seconds shorter. This ride is a good "first" roller coaster for kids. Adults who are looking for a thrill will consider Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster much too tame.
